Welcome to Day 3 of the Catherine Pooler Designs Sunny with a Side of Sparkle Release Blog Hop. This is the final day of the release hop. You should have arrived here from the amazing Laurel Beard.
Sunny with a Side of Sparkle is a spectacular release with so many options. The release contains two stamp sets of which one has coordinating dies, one stand alone word die, one stencil and a bright and cheerful “Paisleys & Peacock” patterned paper pack. At this time the contents of the Love is in the Air Stamp of Approval collection are also available.
Today I have three cards to share with you.
You’re Super
My first card is a simple, one layer card with a popped up sentiment. The colors I used were inspired by the Peacock & Paisley patterned paper pack. The background stamp is one of the diamonds from the fabulous Say it in Diamonds stamp set and the sentiment is from the Starlights stamp set. These colors work well to create a rainbow. At the ends of the rows I used Black Jack ink. The sentiment is white heat embossed on midnight cardstock and is adhered to the card with foam tape. The Say it in Diamonds stamp set has endless creative possibilities. You will definitely see more cards from me using this stamp set.
Happy Birthday
My second card is so bright and cheerful. I was inspired by the fun and colorful floral design in the Peacock & Paisley patterned paper pack. So, I used that for the background and then created a layered sentiment. The sentiment is from the Say it in Diamonds stamp set and is white heat embossed on vellum. I then cut it out as a diamond shape. I went on to create my own colored cardstock by applying ink directly from the ink pad to white cardstock. This was done each for Lime Rickey and All That Jazz. Once the cardstock was dry I cut into diamonds using the vellum piece as a guide. Finally, I assembled the sentiment embellishment with foam tape and adhered to the card. The layered die-cut is just what the busy, but beautiful background needed to calm it down just a tiny. This card really makes me smile. I hope it does you too.
Star
My third and final card for today was inspired by the star dies found in the Starlights die set. I could not resist using them to create a dry embossed background on white cardstock. Then I challenged myself to keep this card stamp free. So I used the star word die as the sentiment. I did have to jazz it up just a little. The card base is Sand Dunes cardstock, so that is what I used for most of the sentiment too. I did die-cut a couple in white to add some layers and then I also used one to color the star in Limoncello ink. It was easy to cut the star and then glue on. The star die-cut sentiment still needed something more, so I used one of the large stars from the Starlights die set and created a gold heat embossed star as a background for the sentiment. The star die sentiment was glued to the heat embossed star die cut and then this was adhered to the card with foam tape. That Limoncello star sure does pop.
Thank you everyone for hopping by. Sunny with a side of Sparkle really is a super release. I honestly can’t wait to create more with it. And better yet, I am so anxious to see what all of you create with it!

Such fun cards – will surely bring smiles to the recipients.
I love your use with the pattern paper! That is so doable and easy!
Really love all your cards – but I like your challenge of not stamping anything on that third card. We have a county fair here and you can submit entries into the card category. There is a stamped card category and a non-stamped card category – which I was always struggling with. I know have a GREAT idea. THX.
