Welcome to Day 3 of the Catherine Pooler Designs Wild & Wonderful Release Blog Hop. This is the final day of the release hop.
Today I have three cards to share with you. The first card led to the second two. Challenge yourself to use your scraps.
Thanks

This card started because I wanted to test out the new ink colors: limoncello and grape crush. I was also very curious about the unique shape of the butterfly dies, so I had to die-cut them right away. The butterflies are die-cut from premium white cardstock and wow are they lovely! Make sure to keep the negative die-cuts.
White heat emboss the Kaleidoscope background on white premium cardstock and then ink blend using limoncello and grape crush. I ink blended the center first in limoncello and then the border in grape crush. Cut down to 4 x 5-1/4 inches and adhere to a midnight card base measuring 4-1/4 x 5-1/2 inches.
Layer the butterfly with foam tape. To add more dimension score in center before adding the tape. Adhere the assembled butterfly to the card in the limoncello area. Then create a white heat embossed sentiment on midnight cardstock using the Note of Thanks stamp set. Trim and adhere to card below the butterfly with foam tape.
THX

For my second card I created a shaker card, my second ever shaker card in fact. Using the negative Scroll Butterfly die-cut from my first card I adhered clear stamp packaging for the window. It is also a good time to get the sentiment figured out. I went with thx from the Note of Thanks stamp set.
Now it was time to create the background piece. I white heat embossed the Kaleidoscope background on white premium cardstock and then ink blended a partial rainbow. I trimmed this piece down to be a little smaller then the top panel which is 4 x 5-1/4 inches.
It is finally time to add a double row of foam tape around the edge of the butterfly. Add some sequins and then adhere to the ink blended panel. Adhere this finished shaker panel to a 4-1/4 x 5-1/2 inch midnight card base.
Thank you so much

For my third card I started by stamping the BFF Background in black jack on a 4 1/4 x 5-1/2 inch card base. I thought a black and white color combo would be nice, but I wanted to jazz it up a little bit.
To jazz up my card I wanted to heat emboss a background on midnight cardstock using wanderlust wow embossing powder. This is where the In Flight Butterfly negative die-cut came in. I trimmed that piece leaving a small border and then cut a piece of midnight cardstock slightly larger. It was this piece of cardstock that I used a couple of flowers and a leaf from the Note of Thanks stamp set to create a wanderlust heat embossed background. I then adhered these two pieces together.
For the sentiment I created a white border strip the full width of the card. I didn’t like how it looked with just the white, so I added the white border strip to a slightly larger piece of midnight cardstock. I stamped the sentiment on the far right side. One of the circular sentiments from the Note of Thanks stamp set fit well.
Finally I assembled the card. The sentiment border strip was first adhered directly to the card base and then the butterfly panel was adhered with foam tape.
Thank you everyone for hopping by. I hope you have enjoyed this release and have been inspired the past few days. Below are all three of my cards together. Remember, it all started with the first card and the rest kind of just fell into place. I encourage you to use your negative die-cuts.
